This 5 axes machine trims a three-blade propeller. The XYZ coordinates
and angles calculated by RobotWorks can also be exported to a motion controller
to drive machines other than robots.
RobotWorks can also be used for Coordinate Measuring Machine applications.
Using a supplementary option, RobotWorks follows a shape and touches
points on the part. The movie shoes back-off motion typical to CMM
operations.
RobotWorks traces a complex shape on a two-dimensional surface using a swivel knife plotter using a
freehand sketch projected on the surface. This
movie demonstrates RobotWorks' ability to program machines other than
robots as the motion information may be fed to any motion controller.
A FANUC robot loads / unloads a CNC machine. A very simple application with
very few mouse clicks. RobotWorks calculates mid-points automatically between
few fixed positions set by the user. The parts are shown / hidden at key points to
simulate actual gripper action.
A Motoman robot carries a riveting tool to assemble several sheet metal parts.
The movie demonstrates the benefits of RobotWorks even for simple jobs like
this, as it helps to determine the correct position of the parts / the size of robot
needed. Watch the collision toward the end.
RobotWorks automatic holes recognition may be used to collect all holes data.
Other automation and machinery for automated helicoil inserts available.
