"For
over 10 years INSYS has been integrating robots into workcells
for deburring, grinding and polishing high precision parts
such as watch casings, medical implants, aeronautic parts,
textile machine parts and more. For reaching precision to the
hundredth of a millimetre, standard teaching methods for robot
programming are not at all satisfactory. For this reason, from
the very beginning INSYS developed completely off-line
programming tools for its applications, using 2-D and 3-D CAD
data and measurements. Converting CAD data, visualising and
simulating the applications were complex tasks that required
many interfaces.

As it is ideal for integrating theoretical data with complex
practical applications, RobotWorks has proven to be an
excellent off-line robot programming tool for us. At INSYS we
have made RobotWorks a standard element of our robot workcell
design procedures. We use the program to design, manipulate
and test robot applications off-line
and to create actual
robot paths for our customers. RobotWorks gives us great
flexibility, especially as it can be used for a wide variety
of robot types. We can run accurate simulations of a job using
different robot models without touching the actual robot. This
saves us a lot of time and money. We instruct our customers to
use RobotWorks with our workcells so that they can easily
modify their applications without stopping production; they
get more value from the robot."
