RobotWorks provides a path manager in which you can set the desired pitch to faces. The path manager (middle and right forms) shows selection of a small pitch (0.1 mm) for face 10 of Chamfer2 of part JetBlade-1.
It is not uncommon on parts like jet engine blades to have such small movements, which would be impossible to enter manually.
This part is being deburred by a robot carrying a rotary tool. We created three chamfers on the part itself, to represent the sharp edges we want to break.
We clicked once on each chamfer, and RobotWorks calculated 427 points along the path, giving each face its appropriate point spacing.
This could have taken three days using a teach pendant and a real moving robot. Instead it took about 15 seconds on our desktop.
